Dr Powers did an excellent job being patient kind and explaining exactly what was happening. He got a really good prescription and has been so much happier with his glasses since he came here. Unfortunately the supporting staff although very friendly, are fairly unorganized in communication with clients in my personal experience. Initially the Google pin takes me to the UPS store across from the mall (possibly where they used to be located) but the office is currently inside of the Sooner Mall. I let them know the pin needs relocated since it doesn't direct you to the right place. Dr Powers has 2 offices that they float between ( Norman and Moore). Staff called to let me know I could pick up my contacts and gave me their hours to do so. I had no idea they had an office in Moore as I had only been to the Norman store. I showed up at the store in Norman where I had my exam but they were closed. The neighboring eyewear business confirmed that they were at their other location. I explained that I was called to come pick my contacts up, so they kindly called them for me, she let the staff know they needed to clarify where to pick up the lenses to future clients. Later I called to double check pickup times/days to make sure I went to the right place. They said they would leave my contacts with the glasses business next door for ease of pickup for me a few days later. My husband arrived to pick them up as discussed, and the nextdoor business had no idea what they were talking about when they inquired about the pickup items. After a 2nd trip into town to pickup items as instructed by the staff, we left without contacts again. I called to request that they be mailed to us for convenience ,along with both my daughter's prescription contacts & glasses Rx and my own, so we could order contacts and glasses online. (The Dr even suggested that for glasses to us- so they weren't trying to squeeze us for money which I appreciate very much!) I did receive the contact trials and 1 out of 4 prescriptions that I had requested. I called in again to get the remaining 3 sent to me. They will hopefully all be sent out by USPS soon. For some reason they're unable to email my eye RX because of HIPPA (per the staff) which I thought was strange but they may not have encrypted emails to protect PHI (personal health information). I understand that working with a small staff in-between 2 offices can be a lot to coordinate, but the disorganized manner in which the practice is run really disenchanted me off from wanting to return. It is unfortunate because the Dr herself seemed really together and professional. So the Dr. gets 5 stars but the business itself gets 3 for the complete disorganization when communicating with clients. I have not done a vision screening in about two years. My appointment was on time, the facility was very Nice, clean and sanitized. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and help me with my insurance deductible and seemed to really enjoy being there and helping their customers for a good experience. Dr Kelsey Crawford was patient with me as we worked through everything. I would definitely recommend them. And they have two locations in Norman and Moore. Could not ask for any better.
